Across all our electrical services, we complete a thorough test and inspection of the fitting, fixture or appliance before it’s put into service to ensure that it meets UK safety regulations and that we have done our job to your complete satisfaction.

Under these same regulations, particularly in commercial buildings and places of work, it is often necessary to carry out ‘periodic inspection and testing of every electrical installation…in order to determine as far as reasonably practicable, whether the installation is in a satisfactory

condition for continued service’ (Electricity At Work Regulations 1989).
This relates to electrical installations that are older and have not been upgraded or altered in recent years.

For homeowners, the general rule of thumb is to have your electrics tested once every ten years whilst businesses and landlords should have their properties tested once every five years or when there is a change in tenancy.

If your property falls within this category, then you will need to have an electrical test and inspection carried out by a competent person, i.e. a NICEIC registered electrician.

COMPREHENSIVE ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AND TESTING BY AN ACCREDITED ELECTRICIAN

Our qualified electricians are on call to complete thorough electrical inspections and testing around Birmingham and the West Midlands.

They can conduct a full visual electrical inspection to check for any damaged lights or sockets, broken cables or overloading, as well as a more complex survey and analysis to find any potential faults, such as an electrical circuit that has not been installed correctly.

Furthermore, before you purchase a property, particularly an older building with electrical installations that have not been upgraded, it’s important to have a pre-purchase electrical inspection carried out to ensure that the property is safe.

If it is deemed unsafe following the inspection, the survey will highlight the electrical issues within the property that need addressing before you move forward with your purchase.

OUR ELECTRICAL INSPECTION AND TESTING SERVICE INCLUDES:

– Completion of an Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) following a thorough inspection and testing procedure
– A pre-purchase electrical inspection to highlight any general wear and tear, deterioration or corrosion that may result in a health and safety hazard for the buyer
– If a report or survey comes back as ‘unsatisfactory’, the electrical works required to remove any risk from those working or living in the property can be completed by us
